Must See Design Shows on Netflix..

As we all have to stay home to fight the corona virus pandemic,we are glued to our TV screens for distraction and entertainment. We have list down some great shows on Netflix to put your better time utilization. These Netflix shows and documentaries will give you plenty of material to draw inspiration in art, design and architecture.

1) QUEER EYE AND HOME MAKEOVERS

More than 10 years after the original series went off the air, Netflix gave the Queer Eye franchise a reboot with a new setting in 2017. The style experts build relationships with men and women who often have different beliefs from them, leading to moments of social commentary interspersed with style advice. Interior designer Bobby Berk is, without a doubt, the unsung hero of the Queer Eye’s new Fab Five. While his colleagues visit salons and bars across America to teach their clients how to walk with swagger or cook a healthy meal, Berk oversees a home makeover full of dust, paint, and heavy lifting. In season 2, Bobby, who owns Bobby Berk Interiors + Design in Los Angeles, can be seen painting, choosing colours and briefing his work crew. He also hoists furniture. Some of his remarkable triumphs this season include building a community hall, fitting out a house for a mayor to entertain distinguished delegates in, and an absolutely gorgeous apartment for a lucky 18-year-old musician. In an episode where the couple enjoyed watching movies, Bobby made everything in their home film memorabilia themed.

2) THE WORLD’S MOST EXTRAORDINARY HOMES

The documentary runs 3 seasons. This property series follows architect Piers Taylor and actress and property enthusiast Caroline Quentin as they discover the world’s most extraordinary abodes. The pair travels far and wide — across mountains, through forests, along coasts and deep underground to find unique properties. In Norway, the hosts take a speed boat out to a four-bedroom house off the coast, while over in Spain they take in spectacular views from a home built on a steep cliff face. Piers and Caroline go on to explore a wooden building on New Zealand’s South Island in Marlborough Sounds and a ship-inspired building in Nova Scotia, Canada.

3) AMAZING INTERIORS

The cliche “don’t judge a book by its cover” applies to the houses featured on this series. The homes appear to be ordinary from the outside, but inside they feature some jaw-dropping designs. Whether the owners are showcasing their love of sports teams or designing around particular themes, they go all-out to make their home interiors memorable. Featured designs include a man who turns his house into a circus, a sci-fi lover who opens a museum in his cellar, and a human-sized dollhouse in Hollywood. This is a reality show with 12 episodes and shows how owners adds their own personalities to their abode.

4) STAY HERE-makeover.make money.

Homeowners renting out rooms, or their entire abodes, to short-term renters is becoming an increasingly common alternative to vacationers staying at hotels. But the properties need to offer unique features or amenities for the property owners to maximize their earnings. On “Stay Here,” designer Genevieve Gorder and real estate expert Peter Lorimer show property owners how they can turn their rentals into moneymaking showstoppers. Episodes feature a floating vacation rental that becomes a romantic waterfront retreat and a family-friendly makeover for a historic firehouse in Washington, D.C.

5) MINIMALISM- A documentary about what really matters

People dedicated to rejecting the American ideal that things bring happiness are interviewed in this documentary showing the virtues of less is more. Although not specifically focused on interior design, minimalism is a trending movement in the design world as well, and this documentary is the perfect inspiration and knowledge source to get you ready to bring this style into your home and into your life. It is a documentary for 1h 18min.

Hope you all enjoy watching these series. Please leave your suggestions below 🙂
